Ashley Joins SOTA

Ashley Byrnes has returned to Hay to take up a position with Hay School of the Air. She is teaching SOTA's Stage 1 Satellite Class daily, plus students who are travelling around Australia with their Families.

Before returning to Hay, Ashley had been teaching in London for the past two years.

Hay School of the Air would like to welcome all students and supervisors back for the new academic year. We have several home visits, cluster days, mini-schools and excursions to look forward to in 2018. Children enjoyed participating in the Hay Public School and Small Schools Swimming Carnival on Friday, where they dug deep and gave their best effort, resulting in many close races and impressive times. It was fantastic to be a part of the outstanding sportsmanship, rousing cheers and school spirit that were shared on the day. The age champions from the Small Schools contingent were Alice Booth (Junior Girl Champion), Lachlan Spence (Junior Boy Champion), Ben Merrylees (11 Year Boy Champion), Dimity McLean (Senior Girl Champion) and Oscar Booth (Senior Boy Champion). The Hay SOTA community would like to warmly thank Robyn Pearson, Sarah Houston, teachers, volunteer helpers, parents and supporters for making the day a great success for all students.
